Marinated Steak
A simple marinated steak recipe from Harry Harrington of Longview, Texas. The steak is marinated in soy sauce, lemon juice, and butter, then grilled to perfection. Optional hickory smoked salt can be added during marinating.

Ingredients
- 3/4 to 1 lb lean steak
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 lemon lemon juice
- 1 tbsp butter
- Spice Island-Old Hickory smoked salt
Instructions

Place steak in pan with the marinade mixture of soy sauce, lemon juice, and butter.

Marinate steak for one hour before placing over hot charcoal grill or broiling.

Grill or broil for 12 minutes with two turns to achieve medium doneness.

Baste the steak in the marinating juice and butter each time it is turned.
Tips & Notes
- • If Spice Island-Old Hickory smoked salt is added during marinating period, no other salt is needed and it will obviate the use of hickory in the charcoal
- • Baste the steak each time it is turned for maximum flavor and moisture
- • 12 minutes with two turns will give you medium doneness
